The Great Indian hospitality – While on your visit to India, if one is invited to an Indian home, one must be prepared to receive affection, warmth and love (mostly in the form of delectable food).
(An old Indian saying “Atithi devo bhava” literally translated as “our guest is like God” runs through every Indian’s veins.)
One would be welcomed with the most lavish spread. The intention is not to make you leave with a big belly, but shower you with our regional delicacies, give a taste of our cuisine – all with the same ingredient of love.
The Delhi Way tip – Do try the meal prepared with love, albeit in small portions. The hosts will understand when told politely that your stomach is new to the rich spices it got only just got acquainted with.
